We’re excited as Ho Chi Minh City prepares to commemorate a historic milestone – the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. This major celebration will involve numerous large-scale events, resulting in traffic restrictions and road closures in central areas from April 19th to May 1st, 2025. While the atmosphere will be vibrant and festive, significant traffic congestion is also expected.
Travel Smart During the Festivities
To help ensure a smooth journey during this special time (April 19th to May 1st), we strongly recommend booking your ride earlier than usual. Adding extra travel time to your plans will help minimize stress from delays and ensure a timely and comfortable trip.
Temporary Suspension of New Bookings on Peak Dates
To maintain smooth operations during the key event periods (rehearsals, fireworks, ceremonies...), TravelThru will temporarily stop accepting NEW booking requests for all pick-up or drop-off services scheduled between April 22nd and April 30th.
Important Notes for Your Journey
We are committed to making every effort to fulfill all previously confirmed bookings.
However, due to expected traffic congestion, we kindly ask for your patience regarding possible delays.
Specific adjustments and recommendations:
For airport drop-offs from District 1: Guests should be picked up before 5:00 PM to avoid closures and delays.
For airport pick-ups after 5:00 PM: We recommend guests stay at the airport, enjoy a meal or coffee, and wait until after 10:30 PM before heading to their hotel.
If an earlier pick-up is still requested, guests will need to walk 2–3 km to District 3, which lies outside the restricted zone, for the driver to reach them. (This option is not guaranteed and may not be suitable for those with children or heavy luggage.)
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation as the city celebrates this historic event. We wish you a safe and enjoyable holiday period!
